If social issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage are your biggest issues, you probably shouldn't vote for Donald Trump, but the New York businessman is heavily committed to the economy and keeping the country safe, political analyst Dick Morris tells
Newsmax TV.
"I don't believe social issues matter much to Donald Trump at all, so if you're voting for him because he is going to be the pro-life guy or he's going to be the anti-gay marriage guy, you're kidding yourself," Morris said Monday on "Dennis Michael Lynch: Unfiltered." "He might be now, he might be in the future, but not a big deal for him."

But anyone who wants to see the economy improve and see more job creation will have a good case for casting their vote for Trump, Morris said.
"But if you're voting for him for national security, you can trust him as long as the day is long because that's his first priority," he said. "We have to understand that there are different levels of commitment in Donald Trump. National security is something he's deeply believed in for many, many years."
Trump would probably be great at economics because as a real estate developer he has dealt with microeconomics for years, Morris said. Macroeconomics is something else, though, he said, so it's yet to be seen how much Trump knows and is willing to learn.
