Dick Morris on Ryan's Trump Endorsement: 'Yesterday's News'

Political strategist Dick Morris told Newsmax TV on Thursday that House Speaker Paul Ryan's endorsement of Donald Trump was "yesterday's news."

"Ryan was somewhere off by himself," Morris told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth. "I don't think he really spoke for a significant segment of the party.

"In fact, it's notable how quickly the opposition to Trump evaporated," he added, noting that once rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich quit the race, "everybody went home.

"Whereas, the opposition to Hillary has lingered and stayed on and will undoubtedly spill over into the convention.

"Everybody seems more or less united behind Trump," Morris told Hayworth. "The polling shows he gets 80-plus percent of the Republican vote, what he should do, maybe up to 90.

"I think Ryan was just kind of out there as yesterday's news."
