Dick Morris: GOP Now Has 'Smoking Gun' From Hillary on Benghazi

Hillary Clinton's testimony Thursday before the special House Benghazi committee gave Republicans "a smoking gun," political strategist Dick Morris told Newsmax TV.

Questions from Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio "pointed to three pieces of evidence that showed clearly, indubitably, indisputably that Hillary Clinton knew this was a pre-meditated, pre-planned terrorist attack and specifically not a spontaneous reaction to a video that had gone awry as both she and [President Barack] Obama were claiming in public," Morris said.

He was interviewed by guest host Ric Blackwell on "Newsmax Prime." Morris is the co-author of The New York Times best-seller, "Power Grab: Obama’s Dangerous Plan for a One-Party Nation."

Morris then turned his attention to the evidence brought out through Jordan's questioning.

First, he cited an email Clinton sent her daughter Chelsea saying that "al-Qaida just attacked our compound and we lost two good men."

He also noted a telephone conversation that the former secretary of state had the night of the attacks on Sept. 11, 2012, with Egyptian Prime Minister Hesham Qandil.

"He said we have definite indications that this had nothing to do with the video that is the attack in Benghazi," Morris said.

In addition, a third conversation with Libyan President Mohamed Magariaf that night also pointed to Clinton's knowledge of the attacks.

"He specifically said that Ansar al-Sharia, an affiliate of al-Qaida, was responsible for it," Morris said of Magariaf.

"These three pieces of evidence came in at the same time that Hillary was saying in public that there was a fog of war, that we didn't know exactly what it is — but it appears to be a reaction to the video," he told Blackwell.

"Then, Hillary went on to say that we hadn't had completely sure positive proof that the video had nothing to do with it until seven days after the attack on Sept. 18, when the video footage about the compound arrived and we saw it," Morris added. "It clearly showed that no demonstration was in place outside of just an attack."
