(Newsmax TV's "Amercia Talks Live")

Bill O'Reilly told Newsmax TV on Thursday the Republican tax-cut plan is "everything" to President Donald Trump because "if it doesn't get passed, then the midterm elections will likely go to the Democrats."

"It's not that the Democrats have a better idea," O'Reilly told host John Bachman on "America Talks Live" in an interview. "They don't.

"But everybody is going to vote next year on Donald Trump's performance in the White House," he said. "So, he needs this to be a big victory."

O'Reilly explained consumer confidence has risen since Trump took office in January.

"He has turned the economy around to the extent that Americans feel better about their own personal situations," he told Bachman. "There's no doubt about that."

O'Reilly added President Trump has also succeeded in destroying the Islamic State's "infrastructure overseas."

"Barack Obama had eight years — and under President Obama, ISIS rose in power and ferocity," he said. "Trump has managed to dismantle that.

"Those are two big accomplishments, but instead of tweeting about that all the time, the president gets involved in this small-ball stuff that gets him nowhere.

"So, this tax-cut deal, this is huge."
