Author David Horowitz told Newsmax TV on Friday that lockdown orders preventing churches from holding services are “absurd,” arguing that Christian churches are the most “essential” institutions in America.
Horowitz told “Newsmax Now” that “the idea that churches are not essential, that’s the rubric under which they're closing them, but abortion clinics are, or that churches are dangerous but that abortions are not is absurd on its face.”
He added that “There's no more essential institution to all American life than Christian churches, and I say this as an agnostic Jew. But all of our freedoms originated as Christian ideas a pension settled by protestant Christians… and that's why we have this wonderful, unique democracy.”
Horowitz went on to claim that “there are no studies that show that the masks improve your chances of survival,” and that most “of the people who got the virus are over [the age of] 65,” while questioning why stores like Walmart are allowed to open when churches are not.
