Media Analyst: Democrats Called Out Over Their Abortion Views

Democrats have been called out on their over-the-top views on abortion thanks to Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, says Dan Gainor, vice president of Business and Culture at the Media Research Center.

"Rand Paul did America a service by making this an issue and really doing so in a way that boxes [Rep.] Debbie Wasserman Schultz [of Florida and chair of the Democratic National Committee] into a corner," Gainor said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"She came out with the most extreme pro-abortion position I've seen stated … abortion on demand with no exceptions.

"That means up to two seconds before [birth] you can go in and snip the spine of a baby and that's the Democratic position."

Even European countries take a more conservative view on abortion, according to Gainor.

"In Europe, they limited it to 20 weeks because after 20 weeks you're able to birth those children and they're able to be born, healthy babies," he said.

"Even Europe has backed off, but when you look at this horrific embarrassing statement that she made … [and] ABC, CBS and NBC don't cover it. They don't want to talk about it."

Gainor added that the mainstream media have given kid-glove treatment to Hillary Clinton as she kicks off her campaign for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination.

"What happens with liberal scandals is liberal scandals are here and they're gone. They refuse to go back to the email scandal in the networks," he said.

"They'll talk endlessly about her Chipotle trip, which ends up being a lot of noise and no substance … The media doesn't want to dig deeper."
