Radio Host Giordano: Corporal Punishment Must Be Moderate

By    |   Friday, 19 September 2014 04:11 PM EDT

Corporal punishment is okay, but must be meted out in moderation and very carefully, according to Philadelphia talk radio host Dom Giordano.

"This isn't the '50s or '60s. We can't go back. You can do damage," Giordano said Friday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

Giordano was responding to the recent arrest of Adrian Peterson, the Minnesota Vikings running back who was arrested on child abuse charges for allegedly bloodying his four-year-oldson with a switch.

"When you're a guy that size, that strength, that ability, and you're using essentially what is a whip — and it's a 4-year-old, not a 10-year-old —all those elements ought to tell you you've got to really just tap carefully here to send a message,'' he said.
