Deneen Borelli: Conservatives Need to 'Fight Fire With Fire'

Being a conservative in America can be tough, but when you are an African American woman as well, it is even more of a challenge, Deneen Borelli, a noted author, TV personality, and chief political correspondent for Conservative Review, told Newsmax TV.

"Try being a black female conservative; I've been criticized . . . I get comments all the time," Borelli told Newsmax TV's Steve Malzberg on Thursday.

"The thing is people are afraid to be vocal and to be true to what they really think and believe. You got to have that mindset.

"A lot of people go underground, and then they try to ignore it, and that's the last thing you should do because that means the other side won. You got to stand up, otherwise as you mentioned, they're just going to pick off conservatives one by one."

She said it happened with Bill O'Reilly, who was dropped by the Fox News following sexual harassment allegations that resulted in an advertiser boycott of his nightly show "The O'Reilly Factor."

As well, Borelli said, liberals are now trying to get ads pulled from a Fox News hosted after conservative commentator Sean Hannity.

"Who's next?" she asked.

"Look at what happened to [billionaire businessman and onetime presidential candidate] Herman Cain," Borelli told Malzberg, referring to allegations of sexual misconduct brought up during his campaign.

"[There was] no evidence of the accusations. He just went away. That's what they want, and that's how they win, and they're vicious at it, and we have to fight fire with fire."

Borelli also urged Republicans to work harder at communicating their agenda to the nation.

"They need to do a better job of messaging to all Americans, to just talk about the policies," she said.

Borelli, a Fox News contributor, is the author of "Blacklash: How Obama and the Left Are Driving Americans to the Government Plantation," published by Threshold Editions.

Conservative Review, founded in 2014 and edited by Mark Levin, is an online media company that presents conservative news and viewpoints.
