A grassroots group of Americans says it is spending millions of dollars to prove to how President Donald Trump is being unfairly slammed in the media.
"We're spending millions and millions of dollars on social media, digital media and commercials on regular TV . . . to tell the American people what is really going on," Ted Harvey, chairman of the Committee to Defend the President, said Friday to Newsmax TV's JD Hayworth.
"You look at the mainstream media is doing. They are pretty much admitting that it is a full scale attack against the president and the conservative agenda . . . They're unabashedly going after the president."

Harvey, a former Colorado state senator, said he believes there is a nefarious group within the U.S. government determined to undermine the Trump administration.
"I would call it a dark state within the government to bring down this president and bring down this administration or at the very least slow down its ability to implement [Trump's] agenda," Harvey said.
"The administration is so tied up in having to defend themselves . . . and also fight legally now with [special counsel Robert] Mueller having the power that he does. They're having to lawyer up and defend themselves against something that they never did."
Harvey also charged that the media is in cahoots with the "dark state" to leak false and damaging stories about Trump.
"What Mueller should be investigating is where these leaks are coming from, who is doing it and start prosecuting those individuals and do away with this fake investigation about something everybody has admitted the Trump administration and Trump campaign had no involvement in whatsoever," he said.
