Washington Times columnist Charles Hurt is perplexed at President Barack Obama's decision to deploy U.S. troops to help combat the growing threat of the deadly Ebola virus.
"The Ebola crisis is a devastating crisis. It rises to the level of world interest, and while I hate throwing money away on foreign ventures, I find this to be one of those things where I give a lot of latitude," Hurt said Wednesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV.

"But, my goodness. Sending troops? What are they going to do? The only thing troops in Liberia are doing right now are enforcing the blockades of these Ebola slums.
"Is that what our troops are going to be doing? Sending them with machine guns to help sick people across barricades where they're going to starve, die of Ebola, or die of some other disease because they're not allowed out of these slums? Is that what he's going to do with our military? It just doesn't make any sense."
