Fiorina on Trump: 'We Can't Put Another Narcissist in the White House'

Carly Fiorina fired a streak of rip-roaring insults at Donald Trump on Tuesday, trashing the billionaire developer and Republican presidential front-runner as an unapologetic "narcissist" who cares about absolutely nobody but himself.

In an interview with Newsmax TV, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO turned GOP presidential candidate also said Trump has divided the Republican Party and regularly slights women, making it impossible for him to win in the general election this November.

"Look, we cannot defeat Hillary Clinton with someone who routinely insults women. We cannot defeat Hillary Clinton with someone who divides our party. We cannot defeat Hillary Clinton with someone who divides our nation," Fiorina told Ed Berliner, host of Newsmax TV’s "The Hard Line."

"Donald Trump is a great self-promoter. Donald Trump may talk about us, [but] he is actually all about himself and that's the story of his life.

"You can't lead a nation if you're all about yourself. We can't put another narcissist in the White House and we cannot put another divider-in-chief in the White House either."

Fiorina’s blistering attack follows a similar rant by John Sununu, the former New Hampshire governor and Chief of Staff to President George H.W. Bush, who told Newsmax TV’s Steve Malzberg on Monday that Trump is a "lefty liberal" who's "thin-skinned" and "all mouth."

Fiorina said that a number of Republicans seeking the White House are mouthing off with empty campaign rhetoric — but she mentioned no other names besides Trump’s.

"We got a lot of people running for president who are willing to say whatever they got to say to get elected. One thing in Manhattan, another thing in Iowa," Fiorina told Berliner.

"Donald Trump may never have been a politician before but he sure acts like one. He says whatever he thinks he needs to say to get elected.

"But his entire life has been about Donald Trump. It's not been about leading others or helping others, it's been about helping himself."

Fiorina insisted she is "not necessarily" singling out Trump.

"Other than he's the guy who says he's not a politician. We got a lot people running for office who will say whatever they say, need to say to get elected and then they're going to go do as they please. That's the thing the American people are tired of," she said.

"Look, Republicans have been talking about the same thing forever. Republicans have been talking about securing the border, reforming the tax code, reducing debts and deficits, they've been talking about it but somehow none of those things have happened.

"It's because the professional political class says and does what it needs to say to get elected and then goes on and does as they please. It's why 80 percent of Americans are tired of it."

Fiorina has been on the warpath against Trump in recent weeks. Last week, she labelled him the "Kim Kardashian of politics," in an interview on Fox News' "Fox & Friends."

And she told Glamour magazine, "Hillary Clinton would wipe the floor" with Trump.

Despite Fiorina’s blistering barbs, Trump appears to be having the last laugh.

Because of low poll numbers, Fiorina, who was once closing in on Trump’s high numbers, has been kicked off the primetime stage at the next GOP presidential debate, set for Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on Fox Business Network.

A Quinnipiac University poll of GOP Caucus-goers in Iowa released on Monday shows Trump leading with 31 percent and Fiorina and Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum tied in last place with 1 percent each.
