The White House and U.S. Christian groups are disturbingly complacent about the mass slaughter of Christians by radical Islamists in the Middle East, says Brigitte Gabriel, president of ACT! for America, the largest national security movement in the nation.
"It's heartbreaking, especially for someone like me who comes from the Middle East, who is a Christian, who's been persecuted simply because I was born into the Christian faith. That's how I ended up in America,'' Gabriel said Wednesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV.

"Christians are being driven out of the Middle East by the Muslim majority," she said.
"The president is not making any statement or taking a strong stand on the protection of Christians, and he can. He has a lot of sway. [And] unfortunately, the Christian churches, especially the mega-churches in America, are not sending missions to check on the Christians in the Middle East.''
Gabriel — author of
"They Must be Stopped: Why We Must Defeat Radical Islam and How We Can Do It,'' published by St. Martin's Griffin — said one reason for the silence of Christians is that Catholics and Episcopalians are influenced by the Palestinians against Israel.
"[They'll say] 'Oh, Israel is the aggressor, you need to see what's happening to the Palestinians,' and they are taking on the Palestinian cause,'' she said.
"That's why they're not really strongly coming out in condemning the Islamic treatment of Christians in the Middle East.''
She said Christians in the U.S. also fear retaliation abroad.
"They have outreach there,'' she said."They have the churches and the monasteries there, and they are afraid of Islamic retaliation against the nuns and the priests, which has been done in the past as well.''
