Rep. Babin: Obama Budget Is 'Outrageous Wish List' of a Liberal Pol

President Barack Obama’s $4.1 trillion federal budget — declared dead on arrival by GOP lawmakers who refuse to consider it — is nothing more than an "outrageous wish list of a progressive, liberal politician," Rep. Brian Babin tells Newsmax TV.

"We got the numbers and it's not only unworkable, it's unbelievable," Babin, a Texas Republican, said Wednesday on "Newsmax Prime" with J.D. Hayworth.

"We should believe it because we've been getting these types of budgets from this president for a number of years now, but the term 'dead on arrival' is pretty accurate I would say."

Obama’s eighth and final budget — which includes $19 billion in cyber security to fix "downright ancient" systems — "reflects my priorities and the priorities that I believe will help advance security and prosperity in America for many years to come," the president said during a White House briefing.

"It adheres to last year’s bipartisan budget agreement. It drives down the deficit. It includes smart savings on health care, immigration, tax reform."

But Babin is skeptical of the plan, which the Office of Management and Budget says will increase spending from $19 trillion to $27.4 trillion over the next 10 years.

"This is just an outrageous wish list of a progressive, liberal politician like Mr. Obama and it's going to drive our national debt up to $27 trillion," Babin — who serves on several subcommittees including on Highways and Transit and Water Resources and Environment — told Hayworth.

"I have 12 grandchildren. I cannot even think about doing that to my grandkids."
