Bill O'Reilly: Comey Out to 'Make Money' on Book

Bill O'Reilly: Comey Out to 'Make Money' on Book

By    |   Thursday, 19 April 2018 12:55 PM

Bill O'Reilly tells Newsmax TV he believes James Comey is using his new bestselling memoir "A Higher Loyalty" to "make some money"and "even some scores," but in the long run the book is not good for America.

"I think it's bad for the country. I think James Comey is putting his personal anger above the good of the nation. He's absolutely doing that,"the conservative broadcaster, said in an interview with Newsmax TV's John Bachman.

Newsmax TV is carried in 50 million U.S. cable homes and is the fastest-growing cable news channels, for more info - Click Here.

O'Reilly said, "The name of his book is 'A Higher Loyalty,' well, it looks like me his loyalty is to himself … I don't think the book is going to sell that well."

In his memoir, released Tuesday, Comey is highly critical of the leadership of President Donald Trump, who fired him as FBI director last May. In an interview with ABC News's George Stephanopoulos, Comey called the commander in chief "morally unfit to be president."

"[Comey is] taking heat from both sides. The Hillary [Clinton] people don't like him, the Trump people don't like him. He's trying to make some money, he's trying to even some scores ... In the long run, I don't think James Comey comes out ahead on this," O'Reilly, a former Fox News host, told Bachman.

"Comey feels that he did a righteous job, that he was upholding the traditions of the FBI. OK. That's the way he feels. But the way he's coming off is petty. He's saying things that I don't think most FBI agents should say after they work for the bureau."

O'Reilly also took issue with Comey's physical description of Trump in the book, in which the former G-man writes: "His face appeared slightly orange with bright white half-moons under his eyes where I assumed he placed small tanning goggles, and impressively coifed, bright blond hair, which upon close inspection looked to be all his. I remember wondering how long it must take him in the morning to get that done."

"He's disrespectful to the president of the United States - disrespectful, flat out disrespectful - talking about his hair and his face … I don't think James Comey is doing the country any good at all," O'Reilly said.

O'Reilly is the bestselling author of "Killing England: The Brutal Struggle for American Independence,"written with Martin Dugard and published by Henry Holt and Co.
