House Republicans are going to bring in witnesses under oath to testify about the connection between the Biden family and more than $1 million in Chinese wire payments sent to them, Rep. Andy Biggs told Newsmax on Monday.
The Arizona Republican, who is a member of the House Oversight Committee that is investigating the allegations, told Newsmax's "National Report" that the progress of the probe is "like untying a baseball with all of the strings coming unraveled."
House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer has indicated that there could be 11 more deals between Chinese companies and members of the Biden family.
Biggs said that the committee is receiving information from various sources: "We're getting the suspicious activity reports; we are also getting whistleblower explanations and then we have had some of these [allegations] leaked to us."
The congressman stressed that these sources indicate a robust relationship between the Biden family and Chinese companies, apparently including one connected to the energy sector or other businesses that are apparently affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party.
Biggs added that as part of "nailing down" the details of the scandal, the House Oversight Committee has "to bring in some people and get them under oath on testimony."
Biggs also commented on the possible indictment of former President Donald Trump by the Manhattan district attorney, calling it a "ridiculous, relentless pursuit of everything that has to do with Donald Trump's life" and is part of the corruption that exists in the nation's justice system.
He added that this ordeal "reminds us that there is a two-tier justice system in the U.S., one for Democrats and the other for Republicans.
