Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik told Newsmax TV on Friday that President Donald Trump should be left alone to "do his job for a change" amid the political scandals engulfing his administration.
"I'd just like to let the president do his job for a change and put all the politics aside," Kerik, who commanded the city's forces during the 9/11 attacks, told Miranda Khan on "Newsmax Now" in an interview.
"Hopefully, that's what comes out of some of this stuff," he added, referring to next week's scheduled congressional testimony by former FBI Director James Comey.
"Let him testify," Kerik told Khan. "Let him speak.
"Let him do whatever he wants to do, I don't think we're going to learn anything different.
"I don't think we're going to hear anything different."
