Armstrong Williams: Democrats Can No Longer Rely on Black Voters

By    |   Thursday, 14 Apr 2016 05:36 PM

Armstrong Williams says he stands by his statement that "everything in America is not about race" and says most people agree with him despite the fact he was booed for saying it during a speech at Al Sharpton's National Action Network Conference in New York City this week.

"The comments when I was walking out the room was heartwarming and overwhelming," Williams, the business manager of former presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson, said Thursday to Newsmax TV's Steve Malzberg.

"I was not terribly surprised, but of the thousands and thousands of people that sent emails and tweets and called, 92 percent were in agreement."

Williams, host of TV's "The Right Side with Armstrong Williams," said the positives bail out his assertions that Democrats wrongly blame the nation's racial issues on Republicans.

"The black community understands the games and the smoking mirrors that the Democratic Party continues to play with them … [blaming] all their problems on Republicans and racism. Black people are tired of this racial pandering," Williams said.

"Democrats [try to make] you believe you don't have to talk about terror, the refugee crisis, the housing crisis, the lack of jobs and opportunities, the lack of entrepreneurship, the overregulation, the refugee crisis … [that] the only thing you want to hear is a conversation about race. You should be appalled.

"The Republican Party has a golden opportunity to tap into this black vote … The Democrats have a serious problem. No longer can they assume they can just cry racism in a theater in the room and blacks just get into a single file and go to the voting machines and vote for them. Those days are over. It's a new day in America."
