Ari Fleischer's Mika Tweak — MSNBC Host Is an Obama 'Parrot'

Former White House spokesman Ari Fleischer has struck out at Mika Brzezinski — accusing the perky "Morning Joe" star of being a "parrot" of President Barack Obama who "goes off the deep end."

Fleischer took aim at Brzezinski after the MSNBC personality bristled at his objections to the Iranian nuclear deal brokered by the Obama administration.

"I'm interpreting what you're saying as let's go to war," Brzezinski told Fleischer, who was a guest on the program she co-hosts with Joe Scarborough.

"I enjoy doing 'Morning Joe' because it wakes me up," Fleischer said Thursday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"But Mika sometimes goes off the deep end. She's just a parrot of the president when it comes to 'if you don't do it, Barack Obama says you must be for war.'

"It's nonsense. What I'm for is actually in agreement that stops Iran from getting nuclear weapons as President Obama promised in the second debate. This agreement doesn't do it."

Fleischer, who worked under President George W. Bush and is now president of Fleischer Sports, said the Iran agreement allows the Middle East country to keep materials used to make a nuclear weapon.

In addition, sanctions which are now successfully squeezing Iran will be lifted under the deal, according to Fleischer.

"This agreement will most likely lead to war because it's going to put Israel in a corner where Israel thinks America no longer has its back," he said.

Fleischer also bristled at suggestions in the media that Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, who is seeking the GOP nomination in the 2016 presidential race, has problems with women.

Paul, a first-term Kentucky Republican, drew flak for tussling with Savannah Guthrie, as the NBC "Today" show host grilled him on his foreign policy views.

During the interview, Paul accused Guthrie of talking over him and editorializing after she asked about his alleged changing views on Iran and foreign aid for Israel.

"Why don't you let me explain instead of talking over me?" he told Guthrie. "Before we go through a litany of things you say I changed on. Why don't you ask me a question: Have you changed your opinion?' That would be a better way to approach an interview. No, no, no, no, listen. You editorialized … "

"What's really bothersome is the notion that he's a sexist. Rand Paul treats everybody the same way," Fleischer said.

"The New York Times actually had a story about the male reporters [Paul speaks with]. It was exactly the same rough way that he treats female reporters. It's his nature, it's his personality.

"Whether it's going to sell well over time is a different issue … but there's nothing sexist about this and that's why that debate just gets silly right from the start."

Paul has admitted he can get hot under the collar, and admits he'll have to get better at holding his tongue.
