Alina Habba might have a slightly different title in President-elect Donald Trump's new administration compared to his presidential campaign, but she told Newsmax on Tuesday the role itself is pretty much the same.
Trump on Sunday named Habba counselor to the president.
"[I]t's effectively a lot like what I've been doing. I'm an adviser to President Trump. I'm there to help strategize. I'm there to help with media. I'm there to help the team put America first. And that is 100% what I plan to do," Habba said in an appearance on "Finnerty."
As Trump's legal spokeswoman and senior adviser throughout his campaign, Habba had a front row seat for the four criminal proceedings — and civil trials — he endured during that same stretch. As she transitions to the White House, she said she intends to put an end to lawfare waged by progressive prosecutors.
"Of course, there are policies and things that I am really passionate about. We all know what those are — lawfare. The corruption like we see with [Daniel] Penny, with [Manhattan District Attorney] Alvin Bragg," Habba said. "Those things I want to make sure the American people never have to live through again. It's incredibly important to me. So that's my Day 1.
"Let's crack that case. Let's make sure America is safe. Let's make sure you're not worried about saying you're a Republican or a Democrat. And that's for all Americans. I'm excited to serve President Trump."
