Victoria's Secret founder Les Wexner has provided documents to federal investigators to show that Jeffrey Epstein misappropriated funds while he managed his money.

Wexner, 81, CEO of L Brands Corp., believes the data show "all sorts of irregularities and theft," an individual "with direct knowledge of the matter" told CNBC on Monday.

"There were things that were completely wrong and transactions that weren’t appropriate," the person added, declining to be more specific.

Epstein, 66, was found dead Saturday in his federal prison cell in the Metropolitan Correction Center in New York. Dr. Barbara Sampson, the city's chief medical examiner, was reportedly confident that Epstein committed suicide.

He was charged with trafficking and sexually abusing dozens of underage girls at his homes in Manhattan and Palm Beach, Fla.

Despite Epstein's death, federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York have said they would continue investigating and were urging more alleged victims to come forward, according to CNBC.

Wexner began cooperating with prosecutors before Epstein's apparent suicide — and Attorney General William Barr has demanded that the FBI and the Justice Department evaluate the circumstances surrounding Epstein's death.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office declined to confirm or comment on their probe, citing department policy on ongoing investigations, CNBC reports.
