The Washington Post has published a scathing editorial mocking Rudy Giuliani for questioning the health of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and claims the former New York City mayor needs medical attention.

The liberal newspaper's editorial board on Thursday scrutinized Giuliani's speech at the Republican National Convention and observed:

  • As he said Donald Trump loves everybody "from the top to the bottom," he gestured to his knees as he said "top," and above his head as he said "bottom;
  • He said he and wife Judith, have been friends with Trump for 30 years, although he only met his wife 17 years ago;
  • He licked his lips, indicating dry mouth — possibly nerve damage, a stroke or Alzheimer's;
  • He sweated, which could suggest heart disease;
  • He slurred words, referring to "jushtified" police shootings and Syrian "refyoongees" which could point to a stroke.

The Post says while Giuliani, a Trump supporter, says Clinton, 68, appears "sick." She has released some medical test results that indicate good health, whereas the Republican presidential nominee, 70, has taken a "nondisclosure stance" on his medical records.

"That hasn't stopped Mr. Giuliani from trading in scurrilous and debunked theories about the Democratic candidate. "Come to think of it, he should see a doctor," The Post says.
