The Golden State Warriors will decide as a team whether to visit the White House in the wake of their NBA championship, coach Steve Kerr told ESPN.

The Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games to become NBA champions back in June, but have reportedly not received an invitation to visit the White House, according to Bleacher Report.

Several players and Kerr have made negative public comments about President Donald Trump, ESPN reported. Kerr indicated in June that he would encourage the team to consider a White House visit as a goodwill gesture.

Team leaders Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant have both said they would vote not to visit, and Durant said he would not go even if the team did, ESPN reported.

“Nah, I won’t do that,” Durant said to ESPN last month. “I don’t respect who’s in office right now.” He expected the team to agree with him and decide not to visit the White House.

Curry stressed that it would be a team decision. “It’s not just about me, it’s not just about KD, it’s about the whole team and what we were able to accomplish as a team and the opportunity that historically has been afforded to championship teams,” Curry said on ESPN’s “The Jump” on Friday. “So, we’ll have that conversation and we’ll do it as a group and we’ll have one voice.”

Kerr said the team had diverse viewpoints about visiting and would meet in the fall to discuss it together, ESPN reported. Teams usually visit on their off day of an East Coast road trip, which would be in February for the Warriors, ESPN reported. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, whose district is close to the Warriors’ Oracle Arena, has invited the team to come to the Capitol.
