President Donald Trump's team insisted that just six people take part in the historic meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in order to avoid leaks, The New York Times reported.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov, and two interpreters were the only ones allowed in, despite the desire of Russia to include more staffers, the Times reported.
The Trump team also wanted to avoid competing accounts of what transpired, the Times reported.
The Trump-Putin meeting lasted more than 2 hours, longer than expected, the Times reported.
