The United States admits a quarter of a million immigrants from predominantly Muslim countries every year, according to federal data reported by Breitbart.com.

In 2013, the number was 280276. Of those 117,423 were made permanent residents, 122,921 were temporary migrants and 39,932 were refugees and asylum seekers.

The figures come as President Barack Obama has ordered the United States to accept at least 10,000 Syrian refugees that have been pouring into Europe. The number may top 100,000, and concerns many observers who fear the vetting process may not keep out Islamic State (ISIS) infiltrators.

Muslim immigration has been rising since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Breitbart notes, and between 2001 and 2013, 1.5 million Muslim immigrants entered the United States.

"Unlike illegal immigrants, legal immigrants granted lifetime resettlement privileges will be given automatic work permits, welfare access, and the ability to become voting citizens," Breitbart's Julia Hahn noted.

The numbers are expected to rise, and Middle Eastern immigrants are now the largest group admitted through the visa process.

"Arabic is now the most common language spoken by refugees, and 91.4 percent of recent refugees from the Middle East are on food stamps," Breitbart reports.

Among the concerns is lack of assimilation. A half-million young girls in the United States face the prospect of ritual genital mutilation, more than in Uganda and Cameroon.

Also, the widespread immigration also has led to numbers of radicalized Muslims who are a threat to attack the homeland from within.
