A non-profit American Muslim organization trying to show that extremist Islamist groups do not represent their religion has launched a poster campaign in the United States which has drawn much attention in social media, Middle East Eye reports.

Sound Vision, which fights against Islamophobia and challenges extremism and radicalism among Muslim youth, created a giant billboard in Chicago that reads "Hey ISIS, you suck," quoting the Quran's "Life is sacred" and signing it "From: #ActualMuslims."

The group includes on its website a chart that shows how it believes the teachings of Islamic State (ISIS) contradict and pervert the peaceful and just religion that Muhammad preached.

Sound Vision official Leena Suleiman told Salon that her organization" launched the campaign in light of the constant pressure on American Muslims to condemn ISIS, especially since Muslims are the biggest victims of ISIS."

Suleiman went on to explain, "That's been a huge problem in the media. The very fact that ISIS is a menace to humanity, and foremost to Muslims, and not just to people of other or no faiths, is a huge piece of the puzzle that is consistently and unfortunately overlooked."

The billboard has garnered much attention and support on the internet and Twitter, became a most-read article on Reddit, and inspired others to call for similar billboards in other parts of the U.S. as well, Middle East Eye reports.

Sound Vision said that it does have plans to expand the campaign to other cities.
