The gunman who killed nine people at Umpqua Community College in Oregon last week shot a woman in a wheelchair, a survivor of the attack told CNN.

The man first fired a warning shot into a wall when he entered the classroom in a bulletproof vest, said the survivor, a woman who asked CNN not to share her name or show her face.

"He seemed happy about it," the woman said in an interview previewed Sunday on CNN. "He didn't seem stressed, he didn't seem nervous. When he came in he told everybody to get on the ground … and the girl in wheelchair, she got off and tried to get down on the ground."

The woman in the wheelchair was then told to get back into the chair, and she attempted to do so she was shot.

The woman in the wheelchair was not identified, nor was it made clear whether she was one of the fatalities.

The witness who spoke to CNN was shot in the hand and said she played dead. The full interview is set to air on CNN on Monday morning.
