It is "really frustrating" to President Donald Trump that he is being blamed by some for the shootings at a Pittsburgh synagogue, his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, said Tuesday.
"That is really frustrating for him," Lara Trump, who is married to the president's son Eric, told Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "This is frustrating for all of us. This is not a political issue. This is not a Republican or Democrat that did this. This is a mentally ill person. Somebody very sick. It should not be politicized."
She called for people to "look at the rhetoric on the other side," including from former Attorney General Eric Holder, "saying when they're down, kick them in the head" and from Sen. Maxine Waters "calling for people to get very aggressive, get up in their face, harass people."
"The president has not said anything incendiary," said Trump. "He is the target of the media when it comes to these sorts of things. Clear bias. It has been happening since day one to this president."
Meanwhile Trump said the best way to support her father-in-law would be to go out and vote for Republicans in next Tuesday's midterm elections.
"We do not want to see Speaker Nancy Pelosi or Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer," she said. "If that happens, they have been very clear. They are going to raise taxes. They are going to obstruct, resist, do everything they can to halt the president's agenda."
