President Donald Trump is using the French terrorist attack near a Christmas market in Strasbourg on Tuesday night in which three people were killed and more than a dozen wounded to push his border security plan.

“Another very bad terror attack in France,” Trump tweeted on Wednesday morning. “We are going to strengthen our borders even more. Chuck and Nancy must give us the votes to get additional Border Security!”

Trump has criticized European nations for permitting an inflow of immigrants that he claims have taken over Europe and led to terrorist attacks, according to the Washington Examiner.

However, although the French police say the suspect in the Strasbourg terrorist attack is an Islamic extremist and has a criminal record, he was born in France, the Independent reported, thus making the connection to border security unclear in this case.

About 15 minutes after sending the first tweet, Trump followed it up with another one concerning the border wall.

“The Democrats and President Obama gave Iran 150 Billion Dollars and got nothing, but they can’t give 5 Billion Dollars for National Security and a Wall?” the president tweeted.
