President Donald Trump failed to beat several possible contenders for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020 in the latest survey from Public Policy Polling.

PPP put Trump head-to-head with various potential nominees, including Sens. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., who have already declared their intention to run in 2020.

The survey also asked voters about former Vice President Joe Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., 2016 candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and former Rep. Beto O’Rourke, D-Texas, all of whom are reportedly considering campaigns.

•    Biden beat Trump 53 percent to 41 percent.
•    Gillibrand beat Trump 47 percent to 42 percent.
•    Sanders beat Trump 51 percent to 41 percent.
•    Warren beat Trump 48 percent to 42 percent.
•    Booker beat Trump 47 percent to 42 percent.
•    Pelosi beat Trump 47 percent to 44 percent.
•    Schumer beat Trump 46 percent to 41 percent.

“It really doesn’t matter which Democratic hopeful you test against him right now,” said PPP President Dean Debnam. “Voters prefer any of them over Trump at halftime of his presidency.”

Respondents also ranked Trump the worst president of the last 40 years, with 44 percent of the vote. Former President Barack Obama was the second most popular choice with 31 percent.

PPP surveyed 760 registered voters by phone or over the internet from January 19 to 21, with a margin of error of +/-3.6 percentage points.
