President Barack Obama shouldn't be surprised his approval rating for the way he has handled the economy is a scant 37 percent, says Donald Trump.
Obama is putting the country into a situation where people don't have incentives to go forward, the billionaire businessman said Tuesday on Fox News Channel's "On the Record." People who should be in the workforce can do just as well drawing a government check, and would-be employers have no incentive to create jobs, he said.

"If it continues to go this way it's going to be very, very sad for the economy," Trump said.
Jobs are lacking, and America isn't manufacturing, he said, adding that while health care, social security, Medicaid and other many other issues are important, America isn't bringing in the dollars to fund them.
People must be given an incentive to go back to work, Trump said.
"They have to want to work. They have to get that ingredient, that great ingredient that we've always had as a country — we don't have it anymore."
America needs to "rethink everything," Trump said. The current system is so broken it can't be fixed easily.
"We have to get this country started again," he said.
