Tim Tebow Comforts, Prays With Sick Fan

Tim Tebow comforted and prayed with a sick fan who was suffering a seizure after Tebow's debut in the Arizona Fall League at Camelback Ranch Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Tuesday.

Tebow, the former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback, was playing on a minor league contract with the New York Mets, where he went 0-for-3 at the plate. While Tebow was signing autographs, the fan suffered a seizure and lowered himself to the concrete, USA Today reported.

Kari Van Horn, a reporter for Phoenix's KNXV-TV, wrote that the fan was convulsing and foaming at the mouth and then fell unconscious. Tebow rushed to his side, and emergency responders administered care.

"Tebow reached over, put his hand on the fan and said a quick prayer," Van Horn reported. "Seconds later, the fan gasped for air and the EMTs were able to assess the situation. The Phoenix Fire Department said the man was transported to an emergency room."

The man was later identified by The Associated Press as Brandon Berry, 30, of Avondale, Arizona.

"I just remember just being very disoriented," Berry told The Associated Press. "Then I saw Tim."

The AP stated that Tebow stayed with Berry for 15 to 20 minutes until paramedics took him from the stadium. He was later released from a nearby hospital.

A humorous portion of the exchange came when Berry identified himself as a fan of the University of Georgia, the main rival of Tebow when he played football at the University of Florida.

"You're a Bulldog? You're kidding me," Tebow said with a smile before paramedics arrived, according to USA Today. "Don't even know how to respond to that."

Social media comments about Tebow's compassion ranged from praise to satire.
