The CEO of Apple said Monday that hate speech does not belong on social media and other tech platforms.

Tim Cook gave the keynote speech at the Anti-Defamation League's annual Never Is Now Summit on anti-Semitism and Hate event in New York City. He was given the organization's Courage Against Hate award.

"That's why we only have one message for those who seek to push hate, division, and violence: You have no place on our platforms," Cook said. "You have no home here.

"My friends, if we can't be clear on moral questions like these, then we've got big problems."

The Hill reported on Cook's comments, which come amid new pressure on social media companies for what some conservatives say is a bias against people with right-leaning political views.

Last month, Cook said it is only a matter of time before the government passes stricter regulations for tech companies to follow when it comes to privacy, misusing data, and more.

"I think it's inevitable that there will be some level of regulation," Cook said. "I think the Congress and the administration at some point will pass something."
