Hair from a Texas woman's cat is being used as evidence that she allegedly sent a box containing explosives to then-President Barack Obama in 2016, according to officials.

Julia Poff, 46, has been indicted on charges of mailing explosives to Obama, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, and to the commissioner of the Social Security Administration, reports Houston CBS affiliate KHOU.

Authorities were able to trace the packages back to Poff after examining their shipping labels, but also discovered cat hair matching Poff's feline friend in the box that was sent to Obama.

Abbott actually opened the package he got, but no explosion was triggered. However, the indictment against Poff said the contents of the box could have caused "severe burns and death."

Poff is facing several charges, including transporting explosives with the intent to kill, mailing nonmailable, injurious articles, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program fraud and making a false declaration in bankruptcy.
