Federal investigators from the Southern District of New York will interview former porn star Stormy Daniels on Monday as part of their investigation into President Donald Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, The Washington Post reports.

The interview is in advance of a potential grand jury appearance by Daniels over the $130,000 payment Cohen made to her ahead days before the 2016 presidential election in exchange for her silence about an alleged affair she says she had with Trump about a decade earlier. Trump has denied the claim.

Cohen, who is currently under investigation for alleged violation of campaign finance laws and bank fraud, was replaced as Trump’s lawyer by former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani in April.

Cohen has acknowledged making the payment to Daniels and Trump said he personally reimbursed Cohen for it. But investigators are looking into whether campaign funds were used.

Attempts to reach federal prosecutors in New York were unsuccessful Sunday afternoon, per the Post, and Cohen and his attorney did not immediately respond to interview requests.

Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, is suing Cohen and her former attorney, Keith Davidson, saying the two men "colluded" and "acted in concert" to manipulate Daniels and to benefit Trump.

Daniels and her attorney Michael Avenatti have cooperated with prosecutors. They are also suing Cohen and Trump in an effort to break free of the confidentiality agreement in exchange for the $130,000.
