WH's Miller Responds: CNN Has 'Very Low Journalistic Standards'

(Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight")

White House senior adviser Stephen Miller blasted CNN's "very low journalistic standards" Monday — a day after he wrangled with host Jake Tapper and reportedly was escorted off the set.

In an interview on Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight," Miller denied getting pulled from the CNN's "State of the Union" set after Carlson sarcastically asked if Miller thought he would have kicked out had he been an illegal immigrant from the violent MS-13 gang.

"I would assume if I were a member they would be clamoring to get me into the voting booth," Miller replied. "I think that like many things CNN says, the story has the most important virtue of all CNN stories as being not true."

Carlson then asked Miller about a video taken during a commercial break and made public by a CBS News producer.

"It's just another example of CNN's very low journalistic standards," Miller responded. "I was glad to have people hear what I said on camera and off camera. CNN has been extraordinarily biased, extraordinarily unfair to the president, and is not giving their viewers honest information."

President Donald Trump, who regularly insults CNN as "fake news," declared Miller "destroyed" Tapper in their Sunday face-off.

"Not only do I think they help it, but I think in the toxic environment that you've created here and CNN and cable news, which is a real crisis of legitimacy for your network," Miller told Tapper.

"I get it: There's one viewer that you care about right now, and you're being obsequious and you're being a factotum in order to please him," Tapper responded.

The two talked over and past each other before Tapper cut off the interview, stating he has "wasted enough of my viewers' time."
