Several people were taken to hospitals after a shooting on Wednesday at the Maryland headquarters of the National Security Agency, although no injuries were attributed to gunfire.

The shooting occurred just after 7 a.m. when a vehicle attempted to enter the agency’s secure campus near Fort Meade without authorization and weapons were fired. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation and there’s no ongoing threat, the NSA said in a statement.

Authorities said the shooting was not believed linked to terrorism.

The Associated Press reported earlier that a suspect is in custody and a black SUV was stopped at a barrier outside the NSA campus.

Local television stations reported from helicopters that police surrounded a handcuffed man on the ground. It appeared that the SUV had crashed into a security barrier and bullet holes could be seen in the vehicle’s front windshield.

President Donald Trump has been briefed on the shooting, the White House said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone that has been affected. We will continue to provide updates as they become available,” according to the statement.

A shooting in 2015 left one man dead and another wounded at the NSA campus after a security guard opened fire when their vehicle exited off the Baltimore Washington Parkway using a restricted exit ramp. The vehicle was reportedly stolen.
