Megyn Kelly: Murdochs Said to Include Roger Ailes Saga in New Book

CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360"

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly said Murdoch family members told her to discuss her role in the resignation of former CEO Roger Ailes this summer over sexual assault and harassment allegations in her new book because "it is important."

"They were the ones who said you should include this chapter in your book," Kelly told Anderson Cooper on CNN on Wednesday. She was referring to Rupert Murdoch, executive chairman of News Corporation, and his sons, Lachlan and James.

Lachlan is the executive co-chairman of 21st Century Fox and James is the company's CEO. News Corporation owns both 21st Century Fox and the Fox News Network.

Kelly's biography is entitled "Settle for More." It was released this week.

In the book, Kelly, 45, said sexual harassment by Ailes started early in her tenure at Fox, after 12 months at the network.

Ailes "said he knew I must have some very sexy bras and he'd like to see me in them," she said.

In July, Ailes quit Fox after former host Gretchen Carlson, 50, filed a lawsuit alleging harassment and intimidation. It resulted in a $20 million settlement from the company.

Ailes, 76, who remains a Fox consultant through 2018, has consistently denied Kelly's accusations. He released a statement Monday doing so again.

"I am very happy that now that has been addressed, and the actual owners of the company, the Murdochs, have come in," Kelly told Cooper. "As soon as this was brought to their attention, they got rid of him and have created a new situation there where they've made very clear, they want people to be safe and feel safe."
