Tennis star Serena Williams gave birth to a 6-pound, 13-ounce baby girl on Friday, ESPN reported.

Moments before her match at the U.S. Open in New York, sister Venus Williams was asked about becoming an aunt.

"Obviously, I'm super excited," she told ESPN. "Words can't describe."

Serena Williams, 35, had the baby at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, according to local news reports.

"I'm so thrilled for her, what a role model she's going to be for that daughter," ESPN commentator Chris Evert said during the U.S. Open broadcast.

"I told Serena this, 'It's a love you've never felt before' — and I know she's probably experiencing that right now."

Serena announced her pregnancy in April on Snapchat, with a selfie saying "20 weeks" in the caption.

She later confirmed that she and fiancé Alexis Ohanian, 34, co-founder of the social news website Reddit, were expecting their first child.
