Former Vice President Joe Biden's behavior around women isn't a generational thing, and it's easy to see how some would find it inappropriate, Sen. John Kennedy said Thursday.
"It's happened a lot and it's very unnatural, abnormal," the Louisiana Republican said on CNN's "New Day" about complaints from several women that the potential 2020 presidential candidate had touched them in a manner they found disturbing.
"I can see how someone, including but not limited to women, would find it, you know, inappropriate," Kennedy added, noting he's still not sure about a video Biden made in his defense. "I mean, if somebody tries to smell my hair, I'm not going to be a real happy guy about it."
He said his criticism also goes to others who have been accused of inappropriate actions, including President Donald Trump.
"This is no country for creepy old men or young men or middle-aged men," Kennedy said. "I know Vice President Biden said it's not harassment. Well, it's still weird and I just think it's happened a lot more than I ever imagined and it's wrong."
But just because someone is accused does not mean they have no right to defend themselves, but when acts of sexual harassment happen, they're "disgusting," said the senator.
He added that he doesn't mean any disrespect to Biden, but he thinks that "any fair-minded person would look at what he did and all the instances and say that's abnormal, it's unnatural, it's weird, it's kinky, it's creepy, it's whatever you want to call it."
