Rush Limbaugh: Chant Controversy 'Much Ado About Nothing'

By    |   Friday, 19 July 2019 09:55 AM

Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh said Friday he's "ticked off" over the controversy regarding President Donald Trump's supporters' chant of "send her back" in regards to Rep. Ilhan Omar, as the matter is "much ado about nothing" and their shouts were "born of fun," and added the president shouldn't have disavowed them.

"This really irritates me," Limbaugh told Fox News' "Fox and Friends."

"There are two sets of rules. The Democrats never denounce Antifa, and Antifa is blowing up cities. Antifa is attacking people. Ditto 'Black Lives Matter.'"

Meanwhile, Omar "hates Israel" and is "uttering anti-Semitic statements," said Limbaugh.

"All this is designed to get conservatives and Republicans acting though they're guilty of racism, bigotry, sexism, homophobia, it is all made up," said Limbaugh. "We conservatives love people."

Democrats, he added, "never have to denounce" supporters or are made to explain their stances.

"I wish people on our side wouldn't get so darn scared and afraid," said Limbaugh. "The media will kill us? So what? We're winning. There is no reason to act defensive, no reason to act guilty of these false things they accuse us of."

Even after Trump disavowed the chant, there were complaints from former Vice President Joe Biden and others that he didn't go far enough, said Limbaugh.

"It is falling into a trap, giving them further ammo to accuse us of all these phony fake things they say we are, which we are not," he added.

"What do we have to defend?" said Limbaugh. "I'm tired of being on defensive."

Also on Friday, Limbaugh announced a donation of $1.5 million to the "Tunnels 2 Towers" organization from the sales of "Betsy Ross" flag t-shirts his show began selling to push back on Nike for pulling a shoe with the flag from the market.
