Ronald and Nancy Reagan's home in Bel-Air, CA has sold for $15 million in an off-market deal, according to the Los Angeles Times

Billionaire businessman and former Univision chairman Jerry Perenchio made the purchase in an off-market deal.

Friends of the couple bought the estate for them in 1986, two years before the end of Reagan's second term. The estate sits on 1.29 acres, with 17 rooms covering 7,200 square feet. The house has three bedrooms and six bathrooms.

The Reagans moved into the home after Reagan's second term as president ended. Ronald Reagan died at the home in 2004 and the former first lady died there in March.

Perenchio owns several properties adjacent to the Reagan estate, including the Kirkeby mansion, known to TV fans as the home of the Clampetts in the 1960s TV series "The Beverly Hillbillies.” He has also been a trustee on the board of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation since 2000.

The Chicago Tribune reported that a two-day auction of the home's contents included more than 800 items, including a menagerie of jade, glass, and porcelain elephants, the traditional symbol of the Republican Party.
