A federal judge will have to decide if jurors can watch a clip from "The Godfather, Part II" during the trial of President Donald Trump's longtime confidant Roger Stone next month.

According to Politico, the Department of Justice and Stone's lawyers cannot agree on the admissibility of a four-minute scene from the 1974 movie in which character Frank Pentangeli backtracks from giving Congress damning testimony about the fictional Corleone crime family.

Stone referenced the scene to a key witness who was about to appear before lawmakers investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election, making it a "critical part" of the DOJ's case against Stone for allegedly lying to Congress and obstruction of justice, the government said in a filing Thursday.

DOJ earlier this summer asked federal District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson for permission to show the clip during Stone's trial set to start Nov. 5. Stone's lawyers objected, and Jackson urged both sides to find an alternative.

In Thursday's five-page filing, the DOJ said the talks did not go well, and the breakdown puts the matter back before Jackson.
