The U.S. Supreme Court has granted a request that could reveal information from special counsel Robert Mueller’s grand jury to the public, CNN reports.
The court issued an unsigned order approving the administration’s request for redacted copies of briefs that are filed under seal in a case involving an unknown company that’s contesting a subpoena involving the grand jury. According to CNN, this ruling “gives the potential that more information will eventually become public.”
The justices previously ruled in the case, which involves a foreign company that is owned by another country’s government, refusing to stop fines against the company for not complying with a subpoena issued last summer, according to NBC News. All legal documents related to the case are under seal, and one floor of the federal courthouse in Washington, D.C., was closed to the public for an entire day when attorneys for each side appeared in court.
