Sen. Ted Cruz and his wife Heidi were hounded from a D.C. restaurant while dining Monday night by a group of Brett Kavanaugh hecklers protesting the senator's support for the Supreme Court nominee facing allegations of sexual assault, The HuffPost reported.

Video footage of the incident, posted on Twitter by an account called “smashracismDC,” shows the activists confront Cruz in the restaurant as they chant, “We believe survivors!”

In another video clip, a woman claiming to be a survivor of sexual assault asks Cruz what his stance is on Kavanaugh.

“I’m a survivor of sexual assault. I believe all survivors,” the woman is heard saying to Cruz, according to Fox News. “There are now three people who have come forward and who have said that Brett Kavanaugh has attacked them. I know that you’re close friends with him. Could you talk to him about that? Could you talk to him about his position?”

The footage shows Cruz get up and leave the restaurant.

“Activists just chased @TedCruz out of a fancy Washington DC restaurant,” the “smashracismDC” account posted in a tweet. “Cruz has been friends with creep Kavanaugh for 20 years. Now Cruz is on judiciary committee hearing his testimony. Fascists not welcome!”

Earlier Monday, a women's rights group convened outside Cruz’s office in Austin, Texas in solidarity of Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez, who accused Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct.

They called for Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court to be withdrawn, KXAN reported.

“We want our voices heard. We want fairness to all,” said one protestor and survivor of sexual assault.

Cruz is locked in a surprisingly tight race for re-election with Democrat Beto O'Rourke.

Kavanaugh has denied the allegations of sexual assault against him, insisting that they were a smear campaign, USA Today reported.

He is scheduled to appear before the committee Thursday to defend himself against the allegations.
