Sixty-four percent of New York voters say Gov. Andrew Cuomo and other leaders should try to convince Amazon to revive its plan to build a headquarters in Long Island City, a new Quinnipiac University poll reveals.

Twenty-eight percent are against pushing the company to restart its New York plans.

Here is how the New York poll breaks down:

  • 59 percent say the jobs created by the Amazon headquarters were worth the tax incentives Amazon was promised. 32 percent say the jobs were not worth the incentives.
  • 62 percent say in general they support offering tax breaks to corporations and business to locate in New York, while 29 percent are opposed to the idea.
  • 51 percent describe New York’s economy as either excellent or good, compared to 46 percent who say it is “not so good” or poor.
  • 50 percent approve of the way Cuomo is handling his job as governor, while 41 percent disapprove.
  • 54 percent approve of the way Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., is handling his job, while 36 percent disapprove.
  • 46 percent approve of the way Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., is handling her job, compared to 30 percent who disapprove.
  • 28 percent approve of the way President Donald Trump is handling his job, while 68 percent disapprove.

The poll, conducted March 13-18, surveyed 1,216 voters in New York state. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.
