British publicist Sam Goldstone, who set up the June 2016 meeting at Trump Tower between Donald Trump Jr. and a group of Russians, has agreed to meet with special counsel Robert Mueller, NBC News reported.

Goldstone currently lives in Thailand but has agreed to travel to the U.S. "in the near future" to tell Mueller what he knows, NBC reported.

The 2016 meeting, which Goldstone promoted to Trump Jr. as a way of obtaining dirt on Hillary Clinton, was later dismissed by Trump Jr. — and others — as a meeting about the Magnitsky Act.

"This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government's support for Mr. Trump," Goldstone wrote in an email to Trump Jr.

Emails show Trump Jr. responding to Goldstone saying, "if it's what you say I love it especially later in the summer."

President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and then campaign chairman Paul Manafort also attended the meeting with four Russians, one of whom was a Kremlin-linked lawyer.

Goldstone's lawyer told NBC News that "nothing is presently scheduled."
