An MSNBC "Morning Joe" producer Saturday shot back at President Donald Trump's assertion the weekday show's ratings are failing, linking to a statement from earlier this week that the show had posted its highest-ever second-quarter ratings.
"Just a reminder about the @Morning Joe ratings," senior producer Jesse Rodriguez tweeted, after the president on Thursday and again Saturday tweeted insults to the show's hosts, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski about their "low rated" program:
According to the report, Morning Joe beat its 6 a.m. CNN competitor, "New Day," for the ninth straight quarter, marking its largest ratings win. The show's total viewer delivery of 1 million viewers in the second quarter of 2017 marked a quarterly record for the network, the report noted.
MSNBC has also seen its overall ratings on the rise, beating out Fox News for weekday night ratings in the 25-54 demographic, thanks to the popularity of network host Rachel Maddow, reports The Hill.
