President Donald Trump’s average approval rating, taken from five major polls, stands is 37 percent in January, according to CNN.
On average, his disapproval rating is 57 percent.
CNN averaged the poll results from Gallup, Pew Research Center, NPR/PBS Newshour/Marist College, CBS News and its own survey. All the polls were taken in January.
His average approval in late November to early December was 41 percent. Fifty-one percent disapproved at that time.
One of the biggest dips in approval came from white, non-college educated Americans. Pre-shutdown polls, according to CNN. Prior to the partial government shutdown, his approval with this group was 55 percent. It now is 45 percent.
The news network said the polling shows people blame Trump for the partial government shutdown. Majorities point to Trump in each of the four polls asking respondents to place blame for the shutdown. About one-third in each of the polls said it was the fault of Democrats in Congress.
CNN’s average of results does not have a margin of error.
