A strong majority, 59% of likely voters say President Joe Biden will be too old for a second term in office, according to a new poll by Rasmussen Reports.
Voters were asked: "If he is reelected in 2024, Joe Biden would be 86 years old when his second term ends. Is 86 too old to be president?"
- 27% said no.
- 14% were uncertain.
- 71% of Republicans said he would be too old, compared to 52% of Democrats, and 54% of independents.
Here are other highlights from the poll results, released on Friday:
- 51% said they are confident Biden is physically and mentally up to the job of being president.
- 47% say they are not confident at all.
- 1% said they were not sure.
The poll, conducted Feb. 26-28, surveyed 1,000 likely voters. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
A similar poll, released this week by Yahoo News/YouGov, found that 68% of registered voters say Biden is too old for another term.
