Police have arrested David Clark, a Washington, D.C. man who allegedly has social media ties to the suspected gunman in the Pittsburgh synagogue massacre in which 11 people were murdered, The Hill reported Wednesday.

After the Pittsburgh shooting, Clark posted a picture of suspected shooter Robert Bowers on the social media platform Gab with the caption, "This was a dry run for things to come," authorities said.

Clark, who appeared in court Tuesday, is facing one federal count of unlawful possession of firearms by someone who is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance, and one count in the District of Columbia of possessing high-capacity magazines, CBS reported.

Clark was arrested after family members told police he was having agitated outbursts, including that the synagogue victims "deserved it" and he had expressed a desire to kill both Jews and blacks.

Authorities report that hours after the synagogue shooting, Clark's younger brother, Edward shot and killed himself. Relatives reportedly told police the brothers were involved in the alt-right movement.

They had been making inroads in white supremacist groups and gatherings, according to the HuffPost.

They also appeared at several demonstrations involvving such groups, including the deadly Charlottesville, Virginia, rally.
